Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has announced mass auctioning of Vehicles from Thursday 5th May to Thursday, 26th May at Nairobi Supplies Branch Likoni Road Opposite the NTSA from 11:00 am.
On Tuesday, May 10, another auction exercise will be held at the Kenya School of Revenue Administration (KESRA) in Mombasa County at 11 am.
An auction will also be held 3 days later at the Nakuru public works grounds.
On Tuesday, May 17, an auction will be staged at KRA Forodha House in Kisumu County while on Thursday, May 19, the Authority will hold the public auction at KRA office, Kiptagich house.
Interested bidders from Nyeri town will get a chance to view the vehicles on Tuesday, May 24 and on the last day, the viewing location will be at Kenya Cereals and Produce Board in Embu.
Sources privy to the information at KRA insinuated that the pricing is usually confidential and is unveiled on the day of the auction. The source, however, confirmed that the sale shall be subject to reasonable prices.
How one can Bid
Since the viewing will be done at various locations as indicated during normal working hours to verify details as these are not warranted by Auctioneers since the sale is on an as-is-where-is basis. In that, you buy what you negotiate for where you get to see it.
Hereby the interested bidders must pay a refundable deposit of Ksh50,000 per vehicle and Ksh10,000 for other goods in form of a banker’s cheque in favour of Philips International Auctioneers in order to obtain a bidding number.
The declared purchasers must deposit 25 per cent of the purchase price by the close of business on the auction day into the bank account of KRA to be provided during the auction and the balance paid within 7 days from the auction date into the same account, failure to which the money received including the deposit will be declared forfeit.
“We shall adhere to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015 section 53.6 which states that all procurement and asset disposal planning shall reserve a minimum of 30 per cent of the budgetary allocations for the enterprises owned by women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other disadvantaged groups.”
The finishing statement is issued by the authenticators of the program and schedulers of its operation for the days that it shall be on and running.
